Upstate Student-Athletes Receive Visit from Former Professional Football Player

Spartanburg, S.C. – Former professional football player Jonathan Orr recently visited the USC Upstate campus and had the opportunity to speak to senior student-athletes about their futures after college.

On November 7, Orr came to campus to speak to senior student-athletes. The former Oakland Raider and Tennessee Titans wide receiver spoke on behalf of the Athlete Transition Services where he addressed the common challenges that athletes face when transitioning into the workforce.

Throughout the workshop, Orr provided many tools and strategies for the student-athletes to use in order to overcome these challenging obstacles. He also provided an opportunity for the participants to develop their own personal game plan for their transition based on assessment and exercises they completed.
