Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate indoor track & field team will open the 2017-18 indoor season on Sunday as the Spartans compete in the UNCG Early Bird Duals at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Upstate will send a lineup mainly consisting of sprinters, throwers and jumpers to the meet, which begins with the men's and women's shot put at 10 a.m. Running events commence at Noon with the mile run. The Spartans have 24 new faces on this year's team.
In addition to Upstate, student-athletes from Barton, Campbell, Converse, Furman, Lenoir-Rhyne, Mount Olive, N.C. Central, Savannah State, South Carolina State, UNCG, Wake Forest and Winston-Salem State are scheduled to compete.

The Spartans return to action at the ETSU Invitational on Jan. 12-13, 2018 in Johnson City, Tenn.
