Spartanburg, S.C. - The USC Upstate track & field teams will return to the Irwin Belk Track & Field Center in Charlotte, N.C. this weekend as the Spartans compete in the Charlotte Invitational.
At the Terrier Relays on March 30-31, USC Upstate student-athletes school records in the men's 400-meter hurdles (Noah Walker) and men's 4x100-meter relay (Ari Jahanfar, Antoine Nance, Terry Newell, Keon Middleton-Weaver). In addition, the Spartans posted new meet records in the men's 400-meter hurdles, women's 100-meter dash (Sarah Hill) and women's triple jump (Adanma Uzor).
USC Upstate opened the outdoor season at the 49er Classic on March 16-17. At that meet, Newell set a new school record in the 100-meter dash which has since been broken. The Spartans recorded eight top-10 finishes in their outdoor debut.
The meet begins Friday at 2 p.m. with the heptathlon and decathlon. Friday's running events begin at 6:30 p.m. with the women's 1,500-meter run. On Saturday, field events commence at 9 a.m. with running events beginning at Noon.

USC Upstate will send student-athletes to the Georgia Tech Invitational and USC Open next weekend.
