Spartanburg, S.C. - On a blustery cool Saturday, members of four Upstate women's athletic teams helped conduct a clinic for the Girl Scouts on Girls in Sports Day.
Members of the women's soccer, women's golf, volleyball and softball teams assisted with the clinic for the Girl Scouts in celebration of the first-ever Girls in Sport Day at Upstate. The clinic was geared to celebrate the participation of girls in sport and to promote health and fitness. The clinic preceded the men's and women's basketball doubleheader against Northern Kentucky.
In addition to the clinic, members of the local Girl Scouts troops made posters in support of the men's and women's basketball teams. The participants also received scout patches and a ticket to the game to watch the Spartan teams in action on the hardwood.
The clinic was just the most recent in a string of community outreach projects taken on by the four teams which particpated in the clinic as well as other teams throughout the athletic department.
