The Polls Are Open: Vote Now for the Top Division I Moments
In 2007-08, USC Upstate embarked on a new journey for its athletics program, transitioning its sports team from NCAA Division II to NCAA Division I as members of the Atlantic Sun Conference. After four years of competing as a transitional member of Division I, Upstate is poised to receive full certification by the NCAA with all teams eligible for postseason play in NCAA and A-Sun championships.

Big news for USC Upstate baseball. Six-foot-9, 240-pound left-handed pitcher David Palladino, a 13th round draft choice of the Los Angeles Dodgers out of high school in New Jersey, said Thursday he will come to Spartanburg and pass up the high dollars offered to play professionally.

Former Spartan Bradley Blanks Signed by Milwaukee Brewers
Former USC Upstate pitcher Bradley Blanks has signed a professional contract with the Milwaukee Brewers and is currently a member of the Brevard County Manatees, the Brewers’ Class-A Advanced Affiliate of the Florida State League. Blanks signed with the Brewers on June 18th and was designated for assignment a day later.

On Sunday afternoon at Harley Park, the USC Upstate baseball team seven runs in the second inning and starting pitcher Philip Brannon (Spartanburg, S.C.) gave up just five hits as he was credited with the win in his season debut as the Spartans downed Iona, 9-5.

The USC Upstate baseball team signed a total of five players during the early signing period for the class of 2015. Joining the Spartans are Anthony Dimino (Charlotte, N.C.), Greg Guers (Washington, Pa.), L.J. Newman (Easley, S.C.), David Palladino (Emerson, N.J.) and Jonathon Pulley (Boiling Springs, S.C.).
