Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate baseball team will hold its annual elite catcher's camp on January 20-21, 2018 at Harley Park.
The camp, which is open to 7th-12th graders, will offer instruction in all aspects of catching. This will include stance, receiving, blocking, throwing mechanics, fielding of bunts, pop-ups, tag plays, game management, pitch calling and communications with pitchers and umpires.
In addition to Fincher, instruction will be provided by current Upstate assistant coaches Tyler Cook and Tim Brown as well as former Upstate assistant and current Mauldin High head coach Jim Maciejewski.
The camp costs $100 and lasts from Noon-4 p.m. on Saturday and 1-4 p.m. on Sunday. Campers will need to have baseball cleats, tennis shoes, mitt and all necessary catching equipment.
