Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate baseball team will play at Harley Park for the third straight weekend as the Spartans host Longwood at 4 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.
USC Upstate 3-5-1 following a 3-2 loss at Presbyterian College on Tuesday. Russell Schwertfeger hit his first home run of the season, a solo blast in the fourth inning. The Blue Hose scored an unearned run in the seventh inning to break a 2-2 tie and claim the win.
The Spartans and North Carolina A&T were rained out on Wednesday with the game rescheduled for Tuesday, April 16.
Longwood is 2-5 following a 12-4 home loss to N.C. Central on Wednesday. The Lancers were swept at Auburn to open the season before winning two of three games last weekend against Niagara.
USC Upstate and Longwood met for the first time last season during the Division I era with the Spartans claiming a 10-5 victory. Longwood leads the all-time series 3-2.
