Spartanburg, S.C. – Following a ten day break for final exams, the USC Upstate baseball team returns to the diamond on Wednesday evening as the Spartans welcome crosstown rival Wofford to Harley Park for a 6 p.m. contest.

USC Upstate is 22-24-1 after dropping two of three games at Lipscomb on April 27-29. The Spartans secured a 2-0 win in the series finale behind a complete game three-hit shutout by Blake Whitney in a 2-0 win.

Wofford is 31-18 overall and 11-7 in the Southern Conference after dropping two of three games at Samford last weekend. All three games were decided by two runs or less, including a 12-inning contest on Saturday that ended with a 6-4 Wofford victory.

Wednesday's game is the second matchup this season between the Terriers and Spartans. Wofford earned a 10-2 win in the first game between the teams at Russell C. King Field on March 14. USC Upstate leads the all-time series 23-16.
