Follow the Spartans on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – USC Upstate sophomore Torrey Craig (Great Falls, S.C.) continues to pick up preseason accolades, while the men's basketball team will make another appearance on television this season.

Craig earned his fourth preseason honor as he was named Preseason All-Conference by RushTheCourt.com.  The reigning A-Sun Freshman of the Year earned Preseason All-A-Sun honors (as voted upon by the league's head coaches) as well as All-Conference honors (CollegeHoops.net) and Second-Team honors (College Sports Madness).

Craig, who led all A-Sun freshmen, finished last season third in the conference in rebounding (7.2 rpg) and seventh in scoring (14.4 ppg).  The Spartan forward found his name in the top-10 of the A-Sun in three other categories as he ranked third in defensive rebounds (4.93 drpg), fourth in 3-point field goals made per game (2.27 pg) and tied for eighth in offensive rebounds (2.27 orpg).

The Spartans, competing in their first season of full Division I eligibility, were tabbed seventh in RushTheCourt's preseason poll.

Upstate's contest at Dayton (Dec. 11), will be broadcast live on Fox Sports Ohio.  Tip-off between the Spartans and the Flyers is slated for 2 p.m.  The Spartans will also appear on television three other times this season: Big Ten Network (Ohio State, Dec. 14), SportsSouth (South Carolina, Dec. 31) and CSS (ETSU, Jan. 27).

The men's basketball team will open the 2011-12 campaign Nov. 11 at Arkansas.  Tip-off between the Spartans and the Razorbacks is slated for 7 p.m. (CT).
