Upstate Records Four Wins on First Day of USC Upstate Invitational

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate men's tennis team picked up a total of four victories on Friday afternoon as the Spartans began their fall schedule with day one of the USC Upstate Invitational.

Upstate saw both of its players competing in the Black Singles bracket advance with two first round victories. Luka Eble earned a 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 victory over Belmont Abbey's Hunter Owen while Francisco Neto also posted a 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 win against Alberto Conde of Presbyterian College.

In the Green Singles bracket, Fernando Bernardes and Ankush Arora both advanced after winning their first round matchups. Arora recorded a straight set win over Mike Nguyen of Belmont Abbey 6-0, 6-0 and Bernardes topped Ed Colclough of UNC Asheville 3-6, 6-0, 6-1.

Day two of the USC Upstate Invitational is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Saturday morning.
