Arora Advances to Flight Championship on Day Two of USC Upstate Invitational

Spartanburg, S.C. – Ankush Arora recorded two victories in the Green Singles bracket on Saturday to advance to the championship match as the USC Upstate men's tennis team wrapped up day two of the USC Upstate Invitational.

Arora won both of his matches in straight sets to make it to the championship round. He began the day with a 7-5, 6-0 win against Austin Anderson of Kennesaw State and followed with a 6-4, 6-1 triumph over Furman's Jake Bhangdia. Arora will face Jaime Castillo Lopez of Presbyterian College at 10 a.m. on Sunday.

In total, the Spartans won four singles matches on Saturday led by two from Arora. In the Black Singles bracket, Francisco Neto collected a 6-3, 6-4 straight set victory against Tino Dalhem of Kennesaw State. Fernando Bernardes, playing in the Green Singles bracket, defeated Kennesaw State's Drew Lahey in three sets 3-6, 6-2, 6-2.

The final day of the USC Upstate Invitational will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday morning.
