Spartans Travel to William & Mary on Tuesday

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate women's basketball team will make its second visit to Virginia this season as the Spartans travel to William & Mary for a 7 p.m. Tuesday matchup.

Upstate is 2-7 after an 80-59 home loss to Furman on Sunday. Tamera Thorpe led the Spartans with 16 points followed by Diamon Shiflet with a career-high 13. Shiflet has finished in double figures in each of the last two games.

William & Mary is 7-1 following a 92-86 victory at St. Francis (Pa.) on Sunday. Bianca Boggs scored 33 points for the Tribe in the win. William & Mary has victories over Howard, Fairfield, East Carolina, Loyola, Davidson, Richmond and St. Francis, with its lone setback coming against St. John's.

Tuesday's game is the second all-time meeting between the schools. William & Mary claimed a 49-46 win at the Hodge Center on Nov. 22, 2016.
