Upstate Continues Spring Season this Weekend at Low Country Intercollegiate

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate women's golf team remains in the state of South Carolina this weekend as it heads to Hilton Head Island for the Low Country Intercollegiate hosted by Wofford at the par 72, 5922-yard Moss Creek Golf Club.

The Low Country Intercollegiate is a 36-hole tournament that will be played over the course of two days. Saturday and Sunday will each feature 18 holes of competition and each day begins at 9:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.

Upstate is one of 16 teams competing in the two-day tournament along with Wofford, Seton Hall, Bethune-Cookman, The Citadel, Dalton State, Gardner-Webb, Appalachian State, Navy, High Point, Longwood, Presbyterian College, Quinnipiac, SCAD Savannah, Bucknell and USC Beaufort.

The Spartans will be sending out a five-player lineup consisting of Pan Paksanont, Anna Chanthaphaeng, Payton Culler, Sidney Dermody and Allea Hawkins.

Upstate posted its best performance of the season last week at the Lady EagleCat Invitational with a fourth-place finish after shooting a 616 (310-306). Chanthaphaeng and Paksanont led the Spartans individually as the freshmen both finished in the top-10 with Chanthaphaeng tying for eighth and Paksanont tying for 10th place. Chanthaphaeng recorded her best finish of the season while Paksanont turned in her third top-10 performance this year.

Upstate heads to Morganton, N.C. on April 2-3 for the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate hosted by Appalachian State at the Mimosa Hills Golf & Country Club.
