Nolff, Roegner Named to All-Tournament Team
SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The USC Upstate women's soccer team had two players named to the All-Tournament team at the 2009 Border Classic. Juniors Catherine Nolff and Alyssa Roegner represented Upstate on the All-Tournament team. The Spartans squared off against South Carolina State and UT-Chattanooga in the event.
On Friday night, Nolff scored within the first four minutes allowing the Spartans to take an early 1-0 lead over SC State. The goal scored by Nolff was the first for the defender in 2009 and the fourth of her career. Nolff was assisted on the goal by Roegner. It was Roegner's first assist this season and third for her career.
"Both Catherine and Alyssa deserve this honor and I am proud of the determination that they showed in both games for us this weekend," head coach Kendall Reyes said.
Upstate will travel to Charleston, S.C. on Wednesday for its final non-conference road game of the season when they face College of Charleston. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
