Carr to Join Women’s Soccer Program

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – After playing one season at Winona State, Rachel Carr (Rockford, Ill.) has signed with USC Upstate and will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.

Carr, a forward/midfielder combo player, becomes the 12th member of the incoming class for the Spartans as she joins 11 incoming freshmen that will arrive on campus in August.

"Rachel will bring a wealth of experience of playing at the college level," said head coach Renee Lopez.  "She will definitely aid in our offensive attack as she has the skills to help guide our program to being more competitive in the A-Sun."

As a freshman, Carr appeared in 15 games for the Warriors and tallied one goal.  Prior to arriving at Winona State, Carr played prep soccer at Winnebago High School for head coach Marybeth Elsen.

She earned Team MVP honors as well as All-Conference and All-Section accolades.  A captain of the varsity soccer squad, she was also a soccer sister mentor.  Carr played club soccer for head coach Gordy Poluyanskis as a member of the Dactyls Select.
