Women’s Tennis to Kick-off Busy Week Wednesday Afternoon

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – After falling at Coastal Carolina Saturday, the USC Upstate women's tennis team begins a stretch of three matches in a five-day span beginning Wednesday afternoon.
The Spartans will open the stretch with a home match against Anderson University (Wednesday, 2 p.m.). Upstate will then play at Wofford Thursday at 2 p.m., before returning home for a 1 p.m. match vs. South Carolina State Sunday afternoon.
Spartan Volleys…
• The Spartans own a 4-3 mark in the D-I era against teams from the Southern Conference. Meanwhile, the squad is 3-1 in the D-I era against teams from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
• Julie Bell earned A-Sun Women's Tennis Player of the Week honors after picking up wins at both singles No. 2 and doubles No. 2 Saturday vs. Presbyterian College.
• Isabel von Stryk, Talia Rojas and Maria Tonani also picked up singles wins as the Spartans claimed four of six singles matches against the Blue Hose.
• Upstate claimed wins at doubles No. 1 (Talia Rojas/Isabel von Stryk) and No. 2 (Julie Bell/Ana-Sofia Camberos) to claim the doubles point vs. PC.
