Kennesaw State defeats Women’s Tennis on Senior Day

Spartanburg, S.C. – Kennesaw State spoiled Senior Day for USC Upstate on Saturday as the Owls defeated the Spartans 4-3 in the regular season finale at the USC Upstate Tennis Complex. Carol Sigaki was honored during Senior Day ceremonies following the match. 

Kennesaw State improves to 3-14 overall and 2-4 in the ASUN Conference while USC Upstate concludes the season at 1-19 and 0-6. 

The Owls claimed the No. 3 doubles match 6-2 before Sigaki and Vale Zarama claimed a 6-1 win in the No. 1 doubles match. Kennesaw State clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles. 

USC Upstate claimed three singles matches in three sets. Noelia Acuna was a 7-6 (5), 5-7, 6-4 winner at No. 2 singles. Elin Hellberg defeated Aspen Jarrett 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 5 singles while Gabriela Cevallos claimed a 4-6, 6-4, 6-0 win over Jada Tijani at No. 6 singles.
