Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate volleyball team finishes its regular season at home this weekend as the Spartans welcome Florida Gulf Coast and Stetson to the Hodge Center for a pair of ASUN matches.

Upstate starts out its weekend Friday evening at 6 p.m. with Florida Gulf Coast before closing out the regular season Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. against Stetson. The match on Sunday is also Senior Day for the Spartans as they will honor Alexa Lagaly and Emily Koelling following the contest.

Upstate clinched its first-ever spot in the ASUN Volleyball Championship last weekend after defeating North Florida 3-0 in Jacksonville. Callie Yeargin led the Spartans at North Florida by tying her career-high of 18 kills, while Madison Haake and Montana Swanson each had double-doubles. Both Haake and Swanson had double-doubles in the first match of the weekend at Jacksonville, and Swanson set a new career-high with 17 kills.

Following her performance in the two matches last weekend, Kaleigh Kelley was named the ASUN Defensive Player of the Week on Monday for the first time in her career. Kelley is the second Spartan to be selected ASUN Defensive Player of the Week this season as Haake earned the weekly accolade on Oct. 3.

FGCU enters the weekend with a 23-5 overall record and is 9-3 in conference play. Stetson currently sits at 4-23 on the season and 1-11 in the league. Upstate leads the all-time series over the Hatters 9-7 but trail 15-0 against the Eagles.
