Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The USC Upstate volleyball team (4-11, 0-3 A-Sun) wrapped up its weekend tour in Music City today, falling to Atlantic Sun Conference opponent Belmont (13-6, 4-0 A-Sun) in three sets by scores of 25-19, 25-14 and 25-7.
Junior Emily Sanders dished out 18 assists today, while senior Morgan Thomas collected eight kills. Sanders also had six digs, while sophomore Morgan Page led the team with 13 digs. Junior Emily Bingham added five kills, two digs and one block.
The Bruins were led by Maggie Johnson's 17 kills and Jen Myer's double-double of 13 kills and 19 digs. Hannah Miranda tallied 43 assist to go along with five digs for Belmont. Scarlet Gable just missed a double-double for the Bruins with nine kills and eight digs, while Jamie Lundstrom contributed 13 digs.
Belmont has a 7-0 record against the Spartans, including a 4-0 mark at home. The Bruins picked up a 3-0 win against the Spartans Oct. 8, 2010 in Spartanburg, S.C.
