Spartanburg, S.C. – USC Upstate senior forward Torrey Craig was named the College Sports Madness Player of the Week on Monday after leading the Spartans to a 2-1 record last week in the Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament from Kent, Ohio.

Craig averaged 18.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists while shooting 47.2 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from three-point range over the course of the three-day tournament.

Craig opened the event with a team-high 25 points to go along with nine rebounds and four assists in leading Upstate to an 83-74 victory over Niagara. He followed that performance by pouring in 23 points and delivering four assists in a 79-78 setback to tournament host Kent State. Additionally, Craig was 3-for-6 from beyond the arc against the Golden Flashes and moved into second place all-time at Upstate with 242 career three-pointers. The Great Falls, S.C., native needs just 14 more treys to pass Nathan Norman and become Upstate's all-time leader.

In the final game of the tournament, Craig scored eight points and delivered a season-high five assists to help Upstate defeat Western Carolina 72-58.

It's the second time this season Craig has earned College Sports Madness A-Sun Player of the Week accolades. He was also recognized as the award recipient following Upstate's 64-63 victory over Virginia Tech on Nov. 9.

Craig and the Spartans return to action Monday night at 7 p.m. against Bob Jones University in the team's home opener from the Hodge Center.
