Fort Myers, Fla. – Tabby Tindell recorded two goals and one assist to lead the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles to a 5-0 victory over the USC Upstate women's soccer team Friday evening in A-Sun action at the FGCU Soccer Complex.
Upstate falls to 2-10-1 overall and 1-2 in the conference, while Florida Gulf Coast improves to 7-5-2 on the season and 2-0-1 in league play.
Ellen Bright fell just one save shy of tying her career-high after finishing the match with 11, equaling her season-best total. Shauna Kain had one shot attempt for the Spartans.
Bright recorded five of her 11 saves in the first half and held the Eagles scoreless for the opening 41 minutes of play. Camille Knudstrup put FGCU on the scoreboard first in the 42nd minute with her first goal of the season, off a corner kick, to give it a 1-0 lead.
Tindell assisted on the Eagles' second goal of the match in the 55th minute leading to Ally Kasun's third goal of the season. Tindell scored her two goals over a stretch of five minutes to make it a 4-0 contest. She scored her first goal in the 61st minute followed by the second in the 65th minute. Shay Jackson added a goal in the final minute of action to put the final score at 5-0.
Upstate travels to DeLand, Fla. Sunday afternoon to face Stetson at 1 p.m.
