Borba Labi's Game-Winner Lifts Upstate over Jacksonville in Thriller

Spartanburg, S.C. – Victor Borba Labi's goal in the 89th minute broke a scoreless tie as the USC Upstate men's soccer team won its ASUN home opener over the Jacksonville Dolphins 1-0 on Saturday evening at County University Soccer Stadium.

Upstate improves to 3-5 overall and 1-1 in the league, while Jacksonville falls to 4-6 on the season and 1-2 in conference play.

STATS OF THE MATCH

  • The Spartans outshot Jacksonville 19-4, including a 10-2 advantage in the first half, and held a 9-3 edge in shots on-goal.
  • Joel Bunting took a match-high six shots, followed by Cam Philpot with five.
