Troy, Ala. – The Troy women's tennis team claimed five of six singles matches as they defeated USC Upstate 5-2 at the Lunsford Tennis Center on Monday.

Troy improves to 3-8 while Upstate falls to 1-11.

Upstate claimed the doubles point thanks to victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Carol Sigaki and Vale Zarama defeated Sanae Ohta and Nancy Karaky 6-4 on the top doubles court while Filippa Ericson and Eduarda Ferreira were 6-4 winners over Hannah Seizer and Alicia Rodriguez at No. 2 doubles.

Ericson claimed a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles over Jiayuan Xue.

Upstate will face South Alabama on Wednesday at 3 p.m. Eastern.
