Leavitt, Tardella Named to All-Academic Team as both Cross Country Teams Place Sixth at the Big South Championships

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Earlier today the USC Upstate cross country programs competed in the Big South Championships and both teams placed sixth overall in the championship.

On the women's side Mia Davis once again finished as the lead runner for USC Upstate. Davis completed the five-kilometer course in 19:39.62 and concluded the race in 30^th place. A few moments later freshman Laura Yarborough crossed the finish line in 35^th place with a total time of 19:57.18.

On the men's side of the race sophomore Jonathan Johnson completed the eight-kilometer course in 26:20.30. The time translated to a 19^th place finish in the championships. Redshirt senior Dorian Jones finished second on the team with a 27^th place finish. Jones completed the course in 27:01.15.

At the conclusion of the race the Big South Conference also announced the all-academic team members for both the men's and women's cross country teams. Allie Leavitt represented the USC Upstate women's team and Michael Tardella represented the men's team.
