Series History
This is just the second all-time meeting between the Spartans and the Crimson Tide. Six years ago to the day, the two teams met for the first time in Tuscaloosa and Alabama held off a late second-half surge by the Spartans to come out on top 74-65 in that game. Four Spartans scored in double-figures in the matchup led by Sharmayne Edwards with a game-high 21 points. Brittany Starling added 14 points and Brittany Clency chipped in 10. Shelby Hicks had a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

Ones to Watch
Upstate – Freshman Dakota McCaughan and junior Marnicha Prudent combined for over half of Upstate's points against Auburn last week. McCaughan went 5-for-11 from the 3-point line in her collegiate debut for a team-high 15 points. She also contributed five assists. Prudent notched a double-double in her first game as a Spartan with 10 points and 10 rebounds. She was a perfect 6-for-6 from the charity stripe.

Alabama – Alabama's trio of seniors in Ariyah Copeland, Jordan Lewis, and Jasmine Walker combined for 65 points and 26 rebounds in the Crimson Tide's 88-66 victory over Houston on Sunday. Walker led the team in scoring with 25 points, while Copeland recorded a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds. Lewis chipped in 20 points, going a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line.

UP next for the Spartans
The Spartans host St. Andrews University in their home opener on Saturday, Dec. 5. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m. from the Eddie and Ann Payne Arena inside the G.B. Hodge Center.
