Series History
This midweek series between USC Upstate and High Point will mark their fourth and fifth time playing each other during the 2020 calendar year. Overall, this is the eighth All-Time meeting between the two programs, with High Point holding a 4-3 advantage in the series dating back to 1982. USC Upstate is 0-3 in games played at High Point. Last season, the Spartans and the Panthers met on three different occasions with High Point going 2-1 against USC Upstate. However, the Spartans won the Big South First Round match 69-59 to advance in the Big South Tournament. The victory broke a three-game losing streak to the Panthers and gave USC Upstate their first postseason win in five years.

Ones to Watch
Upstate – Tommy Bruner (Columbia, S.C.) leads the Spartan offense with 15.0 points per game this season. Bruner also leads the team in steals (11), assists (37). Bryson Mozone (North Augusta, S.C.) is averaging 12.4 points per contest and he leads the team with 23 made three-pointers this season. Khydarius Smith (Fort Mill, S.C.) has been the biggest surprise for the Spartans this season, averaging 6.4 points per game and leading the team in rebounds (35) and blocks (11). 
 
High Point – John-Michael Wright is currently avoiding the sophomore slump and is leading the team in 18.9 points per game, assists (27), minutes per game (32.6) and is tied for the team lead in rebounds (33). Lydell Elmore is second on the team with 11.6 points per contest and he shares the team lead in rebounds with 33 on the season. Ahmil Flowers is third on the team with 8.9 points per game and he leads the team with 10 steals.

The Spartans return home to face Longwood University on Monday January 4^th and Tuesday January 5^th, tip-off is slated for a 6:00 p.m. start time.
