Series History
This is just the second all-time meeting between USC Upstate and Georgia Southern. The two programs have not met since the 2015 season, when the Eagles handed the Spartans an 84-80 loss at the G.B. Hodge Center. Five different Spartans reached double-figures in the scoring column, behind a 22-point effort from Deion Holmes. Josh Cuthbertson added 14-points, while Jacob Schulte and Jure Span each added 11-points. Mike Cunningham contributed 10-point to round out the double-figure scorers for the Spartans.

Ones to Watch
Upstate – Tommy Bruner (Columbia, S.C.) came off the bench on Wednesday night to lead the Spartans with 19-points in a loss to Eastern Kentucky. The sophomore guard scored 10 of his 19 points at the free throw line and is now just 11-points shy of passing the 500-career point mark. Bruner, also leads the Spartans with 14-points per game this season. Bryson Mozone (North Augusta, S.C.) is second on the team averaging 12-points per game and Everette Hammond (Silver Springs, Md.) is averaging and even 10 points per contest this season.
 
Georgia Southern – With seven players averaging double-figures for the Eagles this season, Kaden Archie is leading the team with 15-points per game. Kamari Brown is the leading scorer off the bench through the opening two contests with 14 points per contest.
 
UP next for the Spartans
The Spartans will have a week off between games, but they will be back at home against Big South rival Winthrop on December 12-13.
