SPARTANBURG, S.C. – USC Upstate women's basketball is set to open its 2020-21 home slate this weekend with a pair of matchups at the G.B. Hodge Center. The Spartans play host to NAIA opponent St. Andrews University on Saturday in their home opener before capping the back-to-back weekend against NCAA DII opponent Flagler College on Sunday. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m. both days.

Series History
This is just the second all-time meeting between the Spartans and Knights, dating back to the home opener on Nov. 19, 2012 when Upstate dominated St. Andrews 83-26 at the G.B. Hodge Center. All 13 players scored for the Spartans in that game, led by Tee'Ara Copney with 19 points, going 7-for-8 from the floor and 2-for-3 from 3-point range. She was also a perfect 3-for-3 from the charity stripe and had three assists with four steals in the game.

Ones to Watch
Upstate – McKinley Brooks-Sumpter showed out in her Spartan debut Wednesday against Alabama with a team-high 21 points and team-high eight rebounds. She shot 9-for-18 from the field including a perfect 2-for-2 from the 3-point line. Dakota McCaughan hit double-figures in her second consecutive game with 10 points, six of those points coming from beyond the 3-point arc. She also had a pair of boards and a pair of assists. Denijsha Wilson had a well-rounded stat line on the night with 12 points, five rebounds, six assists, and a steal.
St. Andrews – Aijah Palmore finished Thursday's matchup with a game-high 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting. She also grabbed six boards and had an assist, two blocks, and a steal. Natalee Graham fell one point short of a double-double tallying 13 rebounds and nine points. Dominique Cooke finished with 12 points, three rebounds, and three steals.
