Series History
This is the ninth all-time meeting between USC Upstate and Longwood University. The Spartans are 7-1 against the Lancers and they are 4-0 inside the G.B. Hodge Center. USC Upstate won the first meeting between the two school's earlier this season with a 73-56 victory in Farmville, Va.
Nevin Zink had a career day against the Lancers scoring a career best 21-points and setting a new personal best in free throws made (11) and free throws attempted (12). The last time the Lancers made the trip to Spartanburg, S.C., the Spartans sent them home with an 80-63 loss. The win was the first-ever Big South Conference win for the Spartans.

Nevin Zink recorded his second consecutive double-double on Saturday night against High Point. The back-to-back double-doubles are the first two of his career and he is the first Spartan to record back-to-back double-doubles since
Malik Moore achieved the feat a season ago.
Freshman guard
Tommy Bruner led the Spartans in scoring on Saturday night with 23-points against High Point. The Palmetto State native has now registered five games of 20 or more points this season.
Longwood – The Lancers are coming off a 76-68 victory over Hampton University on Saturday afternoon. Five Lancers ended the day in double-figures, Juan Munoz (16 pts), Jaylon Wilson (13 pts), DeShaun Wade (11 pts), Shabooty Phillips (10 pts) and Jordan Cintron (10 pts). Cintron also led the team in rebounds with 12 boards on the afternoon.

Everette Hammond and
Tommy Bruner are both averaging 14 points per game for the Spartans going into Thursday night's matchup.
Nevin Zink has recorded two consecutive double-doubles and will be looking for his third straight against the Lancers.
Longwood – Longwood has two players currently averaging 10 points per contest, Juan Munoz (10.8) and Shabooty Phillips (10.7). Jordan Cintron leads the team in total rebounds with 175 and Munoz leads the team in assists (83) and steals (41).

USC Upstate will travel to the Commonwealth of Virginia on Saturday afternoon to battle preseason favorite Radford at 4:30 p.m.
