Series History
High Point leads the all-time series against Upstate 7-1, dating back to the first meeting between the two teams on Nov. 20, 1990. The Spartans snagged their lone win of the series in that game with a 90-61 road win. Since then, High Point has taken all seven meetings in Upstate's DI era. Most recently, the Panthers swept the regular season series in Spartanburg Dec. 30-31.

Spartans in the Big South Tournament
Upstate holds a 2-1 record in the Big South Tournament. In their first tournament appearance after joining the Big South prior to the 2018-19 season, the Spartans fell in the first round game at Charleston Southern 67-52 on March 12, 2019. Last year, Upstate became the first-ever 10-seed to advance to the tournament quarterfinals after downing Winthrop 60-57 on the road in the first round. The Spartans were set to face Radford on March 12, 2019 in the quarterfinals when the pandemic struck. Most recently, Upstate defeated CSU 72-64 in the first round game on Saturday, March 6.

Ones to Watch
Upstate – Freshman Dakota McCaughan went off for a career-high 20 points against CSU on 6-of-10 shooting from beyond the arc. She played all 40 minutes of the contest and tied her career-high of five assists. Denijsha Wilson paced all scorers on Saturday with 21 points and tied a career-high seven rebounds. She also had three steals in the contest. Molly Coleman contributed 17 points, and Jada Logan pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds alongside six assists.

High Point – Skyler Curran was just named Big South Player of the Year after finishing second in the conference in scoring with an average of 17.8 points per game. Jenson Edwards received Second Team All-Conference honors after finishing fifth in the conference in scoring with an average of 14.3 points per game and scoring in double digits in all but five games this year.
