Series History
USC Upstate is 3-6-1 against Georgia State all-time, but the Spartans will be looking for their first win against the Panthers since joining the Division I ranks in 2007. Georgia State holds a 3-0-1 advantage in Upstate's DI era dating back to 2009. The two programs have not met since 2017 when the Spartans fell 2-0 to the Panthers on the road.

Spartans to Watch
Newcomer Felipe Marty is the lone Spartan to play the full time in both matches this season. The redshirt junior defender proved to be a solid force against ACC opponents N.C. State and Clemson, coming up with multiple crucial defensive stops in both matches.
The Spartans have yet to net a goal this season, but sophomore forward Jeremy Montero and sophomore midfielder Elias Ehlin have each recorded two shots, with one of Montero's reaching target. Freshmen Xavi Wences and Alvaro Martin each notched a pair of shots against Clemson.
Scouting the Opponent
Georgia State is 1-1 so far this season after dropping its season opener against North Florida 3-1 before taking a 1-0 road win over Mercer this past Sunday. Reigning Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year George Proctor scored the lone Panther goal on a penalty kick in the 75th minute for the win. Proctor leads the attack for the Panthers with a team-high three shots and two on goal.
UP Next for the Spartans
The Spartans head back out on the road next week as they travel to the coast for a matchup against College of Charleston on Wednesday, Sept. 8. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
