Series History
Wednesday's game marks the eighth all-time in the series between USC Upstate and High Point in the Spartans' Division I era (2007-pres.) with all prior meetings in the series coming since Upstate joined the Big South ahead of the 2018-19 season. The Panthers lead the series 5-2 however, the two programs have split each of the last four meetings.

Players to Watch
Upstate: Posting back-to-back career-high scoring outputs against Radford and Presbyterian last week, freshman guard Jordan Gainey earned his third Big South Freshman of the Week honor. Earning the award, he became the first Spartan since Michael Buchanan (Player of the Week) in 2016-17 to earn three conference weekly awards in the same season.
 
High Point: Averaging 19.6 points per game, junior guard John-Michael Wright enters Wednesday's game as the Big South's leading scorer. In 14 games this season, he's scored in double figures in 13 games with seven games seeing him scoring 20-plus points, including a season-high 29 points against South Carolina State on Dec. 10, 2021.
 
UP Next for the Spartans
After playing two of its first three Big South Conference games at home, Upstate returns to the road Saturday for the front-end of a two-game road swing. The Spartans travel north for a 2 p.m. ET tip-off with UNC Asheville with the game airing on ESPN+.
