Savannah Page's Third Career Double-Double and Eleven Team Blocks Lead Volleyball Against First-Place Campbell

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Facing the team atop the Big South standings at the G.B. Hodge Center for the second time this season, USC Upstate volleyball, much like its first such match, showed fight and took a set before falling in a four-set match versus Campbell Friday night by scores of 19-25, 26-24, 15-25, 19-25.

After battling back in the first set, the Spartans withstood a late Fighting Camel rally in the second set to take the set and tie the match at a set apiece heading into intermission. Upstate hung with Campbell for the first half of the third set before the Fighting Camels pulled away to take the set and take the momentum into the fourth set to win the match.

Contributing to the team's fight and the second set victory, the Spartans totaled 11.0 team blocks, exceeding 10.0 total team blocks for the fourth time in seven Big South matches. Leading Upstate with five total blocks apiece were freshman middle blocker Ady O'Grady and senior right-side hitter Briana Strobert as O'Grady tallied five block assists and Strobert tied a career-high with two solo blocks along with three block assists.

Elsewhere on the defensive end, freshman setter Savannah Page led Upstate with 10 total digs on her way to her third career double-double. She complemented her 10 digs with 13 assists to earn her second career double-double during Big South play.

Offensively, junior right-side hitter Ali Jansen led the Spartans with a season-high nine kills, doing so on 28 total attempts and posting a .179 hitting efficiency. Just behind Jansen, junior middle blocker Nikki Deslatte and sophomore outside hitter Ashleigh Nicoll registered eight and seven kills, respectively, as the trio totaled 24 of the Spartans' 37 total kills.
