BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Following its four-game win streak, Upstate falls 3-0 to Campbell in Buies Creek, N.C. on Saturday night.
The Spartans started the game in their half as Campbell claimed the first shot of the game. Upstate began trailing Campbell after the Camels found the goal in the 25th minute of play. Another Campbell shot found the low right corner of the net to make the game 2-0 in the 29th minute. Emily Sanders and Sydney Thomas quickly responded with a few shots on goal looking to close the gap. In the 36th minute Campbell would find the net one final time before half.
Upstate was able to hold the Camels following halftime. Lauren Darbo, Audrey Baer, and Natasha Ferreira had shots for Upstate in the second half while the defensive line kept the Camels down to only six shots. Despite the battle until the final whistle, Upstate fell 3-0 after 90 minutes.
Following the game, head coach Sharif Saber said, "Tonight was a learning moment for our very young program. We will take the lessons we learned from this moment and continue to move forward with the goal of making the Big South playoffs."

At the final whistle, Upstate trailed Campbell in shots (16-5), shots on goal (5-3), and saves (3-2), but was tied for corner kicks (4-4).

Lauren Darbo, Emily Sanders, and Sydney Thomas all had 100% accuracy with hitting shots on goal tonight.

This is the second most Spartans that have played all season with 20 Spartans seeing the field tonight. The first being the match earlier this season with Hampton (21).

This was the second game Caitlyn Davis has appeared in this season, with her first collegiate appearance being against Hampton.
