Spartans Take Paladins the Distance in 0-0 Draw

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Both USC Upstate's undefeated home season and Furman's undefeated season vs Big South Teams and are still alive as the two teams fought to a 0-0 draw Tuesday night.

How It Happened
3' – Jeremy Montero set the tone for the Spartans in the first half, quickly rattling off 3 shots in a minute span.
10' – The Paladins held their ground and responded with some shots of their own, including a shot saved by Luca Bulfon
40' – It was all Upstate from then on, as the Spartans fired seven more shots from then on to Furman's 1. Upstate led in shots 10 – 3 at the half.
45' – Furman came out quickly in the second half and set a physical tone for the final 45, getting two quick yellows but taking the first 5 shots of the second half.
74' – From the 74th minute on, it was the Spartans who took control again, taking 6 shots to Furman's 2.
 
Notable –
-The Spartans used a ninth starting lineup in nine games
-Four Spartans played the full 90, Julian Fernandez, Felipe Marty, Elijah Jackson and Luca Bulfon
