USC Upstate and Virginia Tech have matched up sporadically since 2009 when the Spartans nearly pulled out a win but fell 68-62 in Blacksburg, Va. for the first time. Upstate trails the overall series 4-0 with all four games being road games for the Spartans. During the most recent meeting, Upstate fell 96-45 in the 2018-2019 season.

Players to Watch
Upstate: Isabella Geraci led the Spartans in their battle against the Mountaineers with 36 minutes played, nine points, four rebounds, one assist, and one steal. Nyla Walker also made her first collegiate start against WVU. Walker scored two points, made four rebounds, and had one steal.
Virginia Tech: Senior Elizabeth Kitley led the Hokies against Bucknell on Friday night, playing 35 minutes, scoring 22 points, recording 13 rebounds, and had two assists. Junior Georgia Amoore also had a solid performance against the Bison as she scored 11 points, made two rebounds, and had four assists in 27 minutes played.
