Series History
Entering Wednesday's meeting, USC Upstate and Hampton are looking to break a 4-4 series deadlock in the ninth all-time meeting between the two programs in the Spartans' Division I era (2007-pres.). Throughout the series, the two teams have alternated two-game winning streaks with the Pirates taking both ends of a doubleheader last season.

Players to Watch
Upstate: With the announcement of the Big South's latest weekly award winners, Upstate swept the conference weekly awards as senior guard Dalvin White captured Player of the Week honors and freshman guard Jordan Gainey earned Freshman of the Week honors. Sweeping the weekly awards, the occurrence marks the second time in program history the Spartans have captured both conference weekly awards in the same week, last doing so on Dec. 20, 2011, as a member of the ASUN.
 
Hampton: Scoring in double-figures in 17 or 18 games this season, including a season-high 28 points last time out at Charleston Southern, forward Najee Garvin enters Wednesday's game ranked 3^rd in the Big South in scoring this season. Averaging 6.3 rebounds per game, he ranks fifth in the conference in the category and is one of two Big South players ranked in the top-five of the league in both scoring and rebounding.
 
UP Next for the Spartans
Coming off a two-game road stretch and breaking up a stretch of three of four games on the road, Upstate takes a detour to the Hodge Saturday afternoon. The Spartans host Campbell on Feb. 5 at 4 p.m. with the game airing on ESPN+.
