How It Happened
First Quarter
  • Opening the game's scoring, North Carolina A&T began the game on a 5-0 scoring run to build an early advantage. Upstate, however, responded with a 6-0 run of its own, seeing Chellia Watson bury a three before the Spartans made three free throws to wrap the run.
  • Reclaiming the lead, the Aggies outscored the Spartans 10-5 over a three-minute stretch. Upstate chipped away at the slight advantage as Takia Davis made back-to-back field goals for Upstate to keep the Spartans within striking distance.
  • Over the final two minutes of the quarter, Watson and Davis led a 6-2 scoring stretch for the Spartans, tying the game at 21 heading into the period break.
Second Quarter
  • Adding to a 4-0 run to close the first quarter, Upstate bridged the quarter break with a 10-0 scoring run. The Spartans tallied the first six points of the second quarter as Davis, Watson, and Rachael Rose made layups.
  • Building a nine-point halftime advantage, the Spartans outpaced the Aggies 13-8 for the remainder of the quarter. Jada Logan led the way in the stretch for the Spartans, tallying nine points.
Third Quarter
  • Opening the second half, Upstate outscored North Carolina A&T 5-2 to open the second half and build a 12-point advantage, its largest lead of the game to that point.
  • Digging into the Spartans' lead, the Aggies posted their largest scoring run of the game, 10-0, to cut the Upstate advantage to two.
  • Upstate tacked a 6-2 scoring stretch on the end of North Carolina A&T's run, pushing its lead back to six before the Aggies trimmed the lead to two.
Fourth Quarter
