Players to Watch
Upstate:
Pitcher: Making his second start of the season, redshirt sophomore lefthander
Sawyer Worrell looks to build upon his quality start last time out against Ohio on February 20. Against the Bobcats, he allowed just two hits and a run as he struck out five over 6.0 innings of work while limiting opposing hitters to a .105 batting average (2-of-19).
Â
Position Player: After leading Upstate in all three slash line categories last weekend (.643/.722/1.071), redshirt sophomore leftfielder
Noah Rabon garnered Big South Player of the Week honors Monday afternoon. He was 9-for-14 at the plate last week, reaching base 14 times, leading Upstate to four victories, including delivering the walk-off hit against George Mason. On the year, he's hitting .481 (13-of-27) with five extra-base hits and 10 runs batted in.
Â
Clemson
Pitcher: Making his second career start, righthander Billy Barlow gets the nod for the Tigers for the second straight midweek game, making his third overall appearance of the season. He tossed an inning with a strikeout against Indiana on Feb. 18 before going 4.1 innings with seven strikeouts against College of Charleston last Tuesday. He holds a 1.69 ERA and .167 opponent's batting average on the season.
Â
Position Player: Starting all seven games this year, catcher Cooper Ingle leads Clemson regulars in batting average, hitting .481 on the young season. He's picked up 13 hits in 27 at-bats with two of his hits going for extra bases while he ranks second on the club in RBI with 11.
