CLINTON, S.C. – Opening the 2022 Big South Conference slate Friday afternoon, USC Upstate baseball fought its way back from an early deficit and answered a late Presbyterian tally to earn a 6-5 victory in the series opener against the Blue Hose.
Sparking a four-run sixth inning and giving Upstate the lead for the first time in the game, senior rightfielder
Noah Myers homered down the leftfield line, connecting on his team-leading third of the year. Friday's game marked the first multi-RBI game for Myers in a Spartan uniform.
After seeing Presbyterian tie the game in the seventh, the Spartans battled back as redshirt sophomore leftfielder
Noah Rabon drew a two-out walk and promptly stole second—his fifth stolen base of the year—before senior second baseman
Cameron MacIntosh drove home the game-winning run with a single into right.
