SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- The USC Upstate Spartans had a showing by their seniors on senior night but would ultimately fall to crosstown rival Wofford for the first time since the 2018 season by a score of 3-2.
The Spartans found themselves down in a hole in as early as the first minute as the Terriers capitalized on a turnover in the Upstate third, taking a 1-0 lead into the half. Upstate fought back with two unanswered goals of their own, one of which was Ezra Hoffman's second goal of the season and first since the 2-2 draw against ETSU. The other was Jimmy James' second of the season.
Unfortunately, the Spartans would give up two more in the second half, with the Terriers breaking the tie in the 88th minute of the match.
