SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Looking to expand on the success of his first season, head coach Jason Williams and the USC Upstate women's basketball program begins its new season on the Tuesday, opening the season just 87 miles down the I-85 at Davidson.

Players to Watch
USC Upstate: Entering the 2023-24 season, the Spartans return seven players, including scoring leader Rebekah Gordon and point guard Trinity Johnson. Gordon saw time in 30 games, including 21 starts, averaging 10.5 points and 5.7 rebounds a game. Johnson led the team in assists (64) while averaging 9.5 points and 4.9 rebounds a game.
Davidson: The Wildcats will open their 2023-2024 season against the Spartans, which will be the first ever meeting between USC Upstate and Davidson women's basketball. Davidson returns eight players from last year's roster along with over 90 percent of its scoring production. Leading the returners is Suzi-Rose Deegan, Mallorie Haines, Maddie Plank, Sallie Schutz and Elle Sutphin.
ECU: The Pirates will commence the 2023-2024 season on Monday, Nov. 6th on the road against Elon. ECU returns 83.8 percent of its total minutes played and 88.9 percent of its scoring output from 2022-23. Morgan Moseley returns after posting 32 assists, 32 blocks and 12 steals in the 2022-2023 season.
University of Kentucky: Kentucky starts their season at home against ETSU on Tuesday, Nov. 7th at 7:00 p.m. The Wildcats return nine players to their 12-player roster for the 2023-2024 season, including Maddie Scherr. Last season, Scherr saw time in 29 games, averaging 11.6 points per game and 5.1 rebounds in 31.7 minutes per game.
