Players to Watch
USC Upstate: Leading one of the nation's top defensive units, a unit that ranks eighth in the NCAA in digs per set (17.89), senior libero Julia Gladhill heads the Spartans with 397 digs, an average of 4.73 per set this season. She's recorded four matches with 25-plus digs in 2024, her most recent coming last weekend against Radford with her 26-dig performance—her third 25-plus dig match during Big South Conference play. She enters play this weekend ranked 33^rd and 35^th, respectively, in the NCAA in total digs and digs per set.
 
Presbyterian: Earning her first career conference weekly honor, sophomore outside hitter Ashley Miller garnered Big South Player of the Week recognition after leading the league in kills (4.33) and points (4.83) per set last weekend. Her career-high 18 kills against Gardner-Webb proved a high-water mark for conference attackers last week and helped her to 26 total kills across two matches. On the season, she totals 106 kills over 42 sets for the Blue Hose.
 
Charleston Southern: Averaging 3.22 kills per set, junior outside hitter Skylar Yates leads the Buccaneers with 251 total kills, over 60 kills more than the next closest Charleston Southern attacker. She also leads Charleston Southern with 206 total digs (2.64 per set) and 24 service aces. She's recorded double-figure kills on 12 occasions in 2024, recording her second 20-plus kill match of the year against USC Upstate two weeks ago with 22 terminations.
 
Up Next for the Spartans
Continuing a five-match homestand over the final six regular season matches of 2024, Upstate returns to the G.B. Hodge Center next weekend. In the team's final two-match home weekend, the Spartans host Winthrop and Gardner-Webb on Nov. 8-9.
