Players to Watch
USC Upstate: Passing out 81 assists and digging up 34 balls over seven sets last weekend, freshman setter Kamyla Vega David paced the Big South in assists per set (11.57) and ranked fifth—highest of any league setter—in digs per set (4.86). She enters play Tuesday as the conference's leader in total assists with 796, averaging 8.75 per set to rank second in the league in the category. On the season's she tallied a double-double on 16 occasions and handed out 40-plus assists 10 times. Her 796 assists in 2024 mark the 10^th highest single-season total in the program's Division I era (2007-pres.).
 
UNC Asheville: Redshirt sophomore outside hitter Kylie Cackovic ranked second in the Big South in kills and points per set last weekend, leading the Bulldogs offensively. She accrued 45 kills and 49.0 points over 11 sets, averaging 4.09 kills and 4.45 points per set. On the season, she leads UNC Asheville offensively with 266 kills (3.41 per set) as she's the lone Bulldog attacker over the 200-kill mark, sitting nearly 100 kills higher than the next closest attacker.
 
Up Next for the Spartans
With the regular season coming to an end following Saturday's match at UNC Asheville, Upstate next turns its gaze to the Big South Volleyball Championship. The Spartans open the event on Nov. 22 in High Point, N.C. The tournament bracket will be announced later this week.
