th time in the program's Division I era (2007-pres.), USC Upstate men's basketball faces an MTE event as it travels to Johnson City, Tenn.—home of the 2025 Big South Men's Basketball Championship—to compete in the ETSU MTE. The Spartans face host East Tennessee State Friday at 7 p.m. ET before turning around to face Queens Saturday at 6 p.m.

Players to Watch
USC Upstate: Dropping 21 markers for the Spartans against Southern Wesleyan to pace a group of five double-figure scorers, freshman guard
Mister Dean secured his fourth career 20-point scoring game to lead Upstate in scoring for the fifth time through six contests. Complementing his 21 points, he pulled in a career-high nine rebounds while shooting 80.0 percent (8-of-10) from the field. Entering the weekend, Dean ranks second among NCAA freshmen in scoring, averaging 19.7 points per game, trailing only Tre Johnson (23.5 points per game) of Texas.
ETSU: The Buccaneers boast a pair of scorers averaging 16.0-plus points per game as senior guard Quimari Peterson and senior forward Jaden Seymour average 16.8 and 16.5 points per game, respectively. Both players enter the weekend shooting greater than 50.0 percent from the field and 40.0 percent from three while Seymour averages 5.8 rebounds per game, pacing the duo on the glass.
Queens: The lone Royal averaging double-figures entering the weekend, junior guard Asjon Anderson leads Queens, scoring at a 12.4 point per game clip. He's coming off his first start with the Royals in 2024-25, a 13-point effort versus Appalachian State. His season-high scoring total came against Western Carolina as he scored 24 points off the bench for Queens.
