Head Coach Scott Halkett Releases Upstate Men's Soccer 2024 Season Schedule

SPARTANBURG, S.C.- USC Upstate men's soccer head coach Scott Halkett and his coaching staff rolled out the program's 2024 schedule on Tuesday afternoon, which features 10 matches set to be played at County University Soccer Stadium and road matches against Clemson and South Carolina.
"The 2024 schedule is another really challenging schedule for the team. With the likes of last years national champions Clemson university on the schedule we will once again be playing some of the best teams from this region of the country," said coach Halkett. "The early season non-conference schedule is going to test us as a team and is loaded with quality opponents. It will give us the opportunity to play some really good teams and will expose our strengths and weaknesses before we head into conference games."
Upstate will start the 2023 season with back-to-back home games, starting with USC Lancaster Aug. 14, followed by Queens on Aug. 17. The Spartans' first road game is set for Aug. 22 against UNC Greensboro.
Following the quick trip to Greensboro, Upstate returns to County University Soccer Stadium to host ETSU Aug. 25th before also welcoming the Cougars of College of Charleston Aug. 29.
September will begin with Upstate heading to the shoreline to play Coastal Carolina Sept. 3 before returning to Spartanburg to finish the week hosting Liberty Sep. 6.
Upstate then begins a three-game road stand starting with a quick drive to Columbia, S.C. to play South Carolina on Sept. 10. The Spartans will then venture across state lines to play Georgia State Sep. 13 and North Florida Sep. 17.
Big South Conference play will then commence starting with the Eagles of Winthrop at home Sept. 21. Upstate will then step away from conference play but stay local to take on the Terriers of Wofford College Sep. 24.
Conference play will then resume shortly for Upstate's men's soccer, as the team will take the trip to Farmville, Va. to play Longwood Sept. 27, before returning home to play non-conference opponent Furman Oct. 1.
Upstate will remain at home to host conference opponents High Point, Oct. 5, and Radford, Oct. 12, to then embark on another three-game road stand starting with Presbyterian, Oct. 19. The Spartans will finish their away games for the season against Clemson, Oct. 22, and Gardner-Webb, Oct. 26.
The 2024 season will come to a close at County University Soccer Stadium Nov. 2 against UNC Asheville.
The 2024 Big South Men's Soccer Tournament is scheduled to be played Nov. 6-10 with six teams set to advance to the postseason event. Quarterfinals will be played Nov. 6 with higher seeds hosting semifinals (Nov. 10) and Finals (Nov. 16).
