
Head Coach Carson Blackwelder Announces Upstate Cross Country's 2024 Schedule

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - USC Upstate cross country head coach Carson Blackwelder releases the Spartans 2024 schedule which includes hosting both the annual Eye Opener and Upstate Invite at Milliken Park as well as races in Kentucky, North Carolina, and down the road at Converse.
"Our schedule will provide some challenges and really test our team. We will see some larger meets on familiar courses. The three meets at Milliken will allow the runners to be to take advantage of running on their home course," said Coach Blackwelder.
The Spartans will being the 2024 cross country season with a quick trip to Boone, N.C. Aug. 30 to compete in the Covered Bridge Open, hosted by Appalachian State.
Upstate then returns to Spartanburg, S.C. to host its first race of the year at Milliken Research Center in the form of the annual Eye Opener Sept. 6. The programs will remain at Milliken Research Park to compete in the Converse Kick Off Sept. 21.
October will begin with the Spartans packing the buses once again, this time headed to Louisville, KY to race in the annual Live in Lou Classic hosted by the University of Louisville Oct. 5. The regular season will come to a close Oct. 19 at Milliken Research Center as the Spartans host the annual Upstate Invite.
The Big South Cross Country Championships are scheduled for Nov. 1 in Charlotte, N.C. and the NCAA Southeast Regionals are set for Nov. 15 in Rock Hill, S.C.
