GREENSBORO, N.C. – Closing out the opening weekend of the 2024 slate with the final match of the UNCG Spartan Classic, USC Upstate volleyball finished its weekend with a four-set fight against host UNC Greensboro, dropping the match behind scores of 20-25, 20-25, 25-21, and 20-25.

Following up on her two Division I era (2007-pres.) records last evening versus Robert Morris, junior middle blocker
Ady O'Grady finished one kill off her career-high, throwing down a season-best 17 kills. She fashioned her season-high kill count behind a career-high (min. 12 kills) hitting efficiency, posting a .615 hitting percentage, committing just one error on 26 swings.

Savannah Page and graduate student outside hitter
Allison Palmi finished with 12 and 10 kills, respectively. For Page, the total marked a career-high, besting her total of 10 kills versus Marshall on 9/17/2022.
Pacing the Upstate offense, freshman setter
Kamyla Vega David passed out a career-best 34 assists, leading the Spartans to a season-high .222 team hitting percentage. She added a career-high 18 digs—tops among Upstate players against UNCG—to claim her second straight double-double.
For the second consecutive match, two Upstate players fashioned double-doubles as Palmi joined Vega David with a double-double, complementing her 10 kills with 11 digs, securing her first double-double in a Spartan uniform.
Notable
- Finishing the afternoon with 34 assists and 18 digs, Kamyla Vega David secured the second double-double of her career, accomplishing the feat in consecutive matches. She becomes the lone Spartan with multiple double-doubles in 2024.
