Players to Watch
USC Upstate: Landing seven winners last weekend at the UNCG Spartan Classic, senior libero Julia Gladhill tied teammate, redshirt freshman outside hitter Bri Brathol, for the Big South's lead in the category. Her seven service aces (three versus Missouri State and four versus Robert Morris) give her 55 for her career putting her within striking distance of the program's Division I era (2007-pres.) career top-10 for the category. Gladhill completed her serving acumen with 52 total digs (4.00 per set), ranking third in the league in both marks, recording double-digit digs in all three matches.
 
Furman: Recording 31 kills over 58 swings with just two errors, senior middle blocker Genevieve Perry ranks 18^th in the NCAA and second in the SoCon in hitting efficiency (.500). She closed the opening weekend with a season-high 14 kills on 22 swings (.636), her lone match with double-figure terminations. She also leads the conference in total blocks, collecting 15.0 through three matches while she ranks second in the league in blocks per set at 1.25 per set.
 
Up Next for the Spartans
Coming off the team's first midweek contest of the season, USC Upstate returns to action this weekend with an excursion to the South Carolina Lowcountry. The Spartans head to the College of Charleston for the CofC Invitational for matches with Pacific, College of Charleston, and Yale.
