Players to Watch
USC Upstate: Racking up her third straight double-double against Furman, freshman setter
Kamyla Vega David turned in a career day with career highs in kills (two), assists (48), service aces (five), digs (19), and total blocks (five). Through four matches to open her Upstate career, she ranks 37
th in the NCAA with 123 assists, chipping in 59 digs and seven service aces. Vega David paces a Spartan offense that ranks fourth in the NCAA in total team assists.

Pacific: A returning First Team All-WCC performer from a season ago, graduate student outside hitter Alexa Edwards leads the Tigers' offense with three straight matches with 12-plus kills to begin the new season. Her 46 total kills rank fifth in the WCC while her 3.54 kills per set and 49.5 points rank seventh. She enters the weekend with 14 straight matches reaching double-digit terminations.

College of Charleston: Leading the Cougars offensively, graduate transfer right-side hitter Emily Banitt has collected 35 kills on the season, opening the year with 19 in the opener against Western Carolina. She's accrued her 3.50 kills per set, which ranks fourth in the CAA, behind a .214 hitting efficiency. She also slots third on the College of Charleston roster with 29 digs on the season.

Yale: While the Bulldogs have yet to see the floor in the new campaign, they begin the season as the preseason favorites in the Ivy League, returning four all-conference players. Heading the group is 2023 Ivy League Player of the Year Carly Diehl who also brought in AVCA Honorable Mention All-American honors last season. She passed out 920 assists to lead the conference last year, averaging 10.45 helpers per set.

Upon returning from the Lowcountry, the Spartans trek for the Queen City and the team's third pre-conference season tournament. Upstate faces the Queens Fall Classic and matches versus William & Mary, Queens, and Davidson from Sep. 13-14.
